The Consultation of Religious Communities holds its regular meetings on the third Wednesday of each month except July between 10:00 AM and noon, or as otherwise noted.  Community members are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

The community-wide celebration of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King's Birthday was celebrated at 7 pm on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at First Christian Church, 900  Lincolnshire Pl.  Guest speakers were Marilynne Robinson and Ross Wilburn.  Celebration included music by the Gospel Explosion, Disciple Singers, Barbara Buddin and Paul Soderdahl

Annual Book Sale, was held at Hope UMC, Feb 28, 2009, at 2929 E Court.  Over $5,000was raised and will be directed to the Shelter House Capital campaign.  Future information on collecting books and assisting with the sale will be forthcoming.

The Shelter House Interim Overflow Project is closing its last week before March 31st.  We will need to have another year of Overflow as the new Shelter will not be done in time.  Plans are pending for this next winter as Christine Mullen and Meg Kiekhaefer will be unable to coordinate.  Please send thanks to Christine Mullen at 337-5716 (christine.mullen@mchsi.com ) for her dedication and many hours of volunteer coordination for the past five winters.

ToGather Together is a cooperative venture between the Consultation of Religious Communities, the Johnson County Neighborhood Centers, Community Partnership of Johnson County, the Iow City School District and other faith communities, service organizations, businesses and individuals.  Faith Communities can help by collecting money for school supplies, providing a contact to serve on the planning team, and help with connections with schools and businesses.  

Our annual Coat Distribution is held every October.
