CRC Volunteers Needed!
Family Nights welcome all for a free meal, activities for kids, interactive community-building sessions, networking, and fun for the whole family. Family Nights help connect neighborhood families with one another, engage parents in educational programs and resources, and provide supervised, creative activities for kids of all ages.
We are counting on CRC member communities to help! We are in need of 5-10+ volunteers each month to prepare and serve the meal for about 100 people (or donate funds towards a meal that F2F will provide), help with activities for about 60-70 children and youth, and assist with clean up afterward. There are some funds available to partially reimburse groups for the cost of the meal or supplies for activities, but your help in covering those costs is also greatly appreciated.
For children and youth, volunteers are needed to provide supervision and organize activities. If your faith community would like to prepare and lead an activity for children for 60-90 minutes (crafts, games, skits, music, etc.), we welcome that. Otherwise, staff of the collaborating groups will prepare something and/or find other volunteers to do the organized activities. We always need volunteers to help supervise during these activities!
Interactive programming and engaging community development for adults is offered after dinner. Topics for discussion range from experiences with the schools, to knowing your rights with law enforcement, to parenting and communication skills and more. We would love to hear from people in faith communities who might have expertise to offer for these programs and will keep you posted on what topics are of particular interest to participants.
Because Family Nights are organized and run primarily by AmeriCorps volunteers, no religious programming can be included.
Please contact the F2F AmeriCorps member for more information or to volunteer: Abby Jessen, 319-329-1492 or email@example.com. Check out our Facebook page for up-to-date information on the program and Family Night: www.facebook.com/family2familypartnershipprogram.
