The Board consists of all community organizations working on homelessness-related issues. It meets once monthly under the direction of City Planning at the Iowa City Civic Center. The Board shares information on the status of projects and the needs of the homeless community. Members work together to address these issues and keep the community informed.
The Board regularly meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month in Council chambers at the city office building from 9 to 10:30 a.m. As a member, CRC networks with the other agencies regarding housing, hunger, and related issues. The organization provides a valuable clearing house for meeting needs, accessing resources in and beyond the community, and a venue for the community to work together to address the needs of the low-income population in Johnson County. LHCB requests a CRC representative to the meetings, and this person acts as liaison, reporting any pertinent information to the Consultation.
