This committee was established under the guidance of the Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) and currently consists of LDR, the Iowa City Government, Johnson County United Way, CRC, the University of Iowa, and the Crisis Center. The committee is in the process of transitioning to a Pandemic Committee which will work on emergency planning for future disasters. Although based on a Pandemic Influenza threat, the object of the committee and subcommittees is to create a community base of resources and people ready to respond to any emergency situation (tornado, flood, blizzard, terrorist attack, epidemic).
